Choosing Bartholomew Barn for their colourful summer wedding, Kelly and Adam celebrated with beautiful flowers, great food and entertainment as the sun shone on their special day.
With a July wedding date in mind, Kelly and Adam were on the lookout for a wedding venue in West Sussex that had beautiful outdoor spaces for photographs. They soon fell in love with Bartholomew Barn.
We wanted to get married in a barn in the countryside and I loved how pretty the grounds were. - Kelly
Embracing a theme of ‘colourful flowers’, a range of breath-taking summer hues adorned Bartholomew Barns in a rustic, boho style.
Adam made the large guestbook and a stunning arch, while Kelly put together table centres and signs and the happy couple also made a ‘tree of love’.
My mum did a wonderful job of decorating jam jars with hessian and ribbons. She and my mother-in-law arranged flowers in them and they were placed in the fire place during the ceremony and on the tables for the wedding breakfast. – Kelly
Kelly was stunning in a Payton satin dress with Voulaire lace overdress by Charlie Brear.
It was the first dress I tried on. I loved the lace and liked that it had a boho feel and was so comfortable. – Kelly
The beautiful bride accessorised with a Pandora bracelet from her parents, a bangle from Adam and another bangle with purple stones. She completed the look with a veil and flower garland.
Adam looked the part in a grey suit from Next with pastel green tie. Meanwhile, the six adult bridesmaids chose green multi-way dresses from Debenhams, accessorising with flowers in their hair.
Following their romantic ceremony at Bartholomew Barn, a drinks reception was held in the courtyard before Kelly, Adam and their guests moved inside for their wedding breakfast.
As day turned to evening, the newlyweds danced their first dance to ‘Only One’ buy the John Butler Trio and a DJ filled the dance floor.
We had blue uplighters around the barn which looked really effective on the bare brick walls. The dance floor was full and our friends and family were all dancing together. – Kelly
Fish and chip cones proved to be the perfect finale for this glorious, fun-filled summer day!
Walking down the aisle, holding on to my dad’s arm and smiling at our guests before looking up at Adam and seeing the beautiful arch that he had made as a surprise.
