Allyson and Dominic dreamed of a beautiful barn wedding with all their friends and family, followed by a night to remember on the dance floor.
Keen to get married at a barn wedding venue, Allyson and Dominic shortlisted three to visit. Bartholomew Barn was the third and final venue the pair visited – and they knew instantly that it was the one.
It was more intimate and charming than any of the other venues we’d seen. The location was stunning and the space was perfect for all our big-day plans.
Allyson wowed the rest of her wedding party in a gorgeous Charlotte Balbier dress, from The Bridal Boutique, in Haslemere. The dress itself was plain satin, and Allyson teamed it with a three-quarter-length jacket – ideal for the April climate! She finished off her look with a diamante detail belt and pearl beaded veil.
Allyson’s five bridesmaids also dressed to impress in chic Reiss outfits. They wore cream pleated skirts with navy blue tops and were free to accessorise as they wished.
They all looked fantastic, smiles Allyson. We had the most relaxed and fun morning getting ready together.
Bartholomew Barn was styled in a palette of beautiful, bright colours including navy, blue and raspberry. This was to complement the couple’s Tuscan theme, infused with a few Scottish touches. The wedding flowers really helped the pair to create the look they were after and were in abundance across the whole of the venue. Flower balls were hung from the barn ceiling, while the tables were styled with moss blocks combined with pink flowers and succulents placed in terracotta pots. For that Scottish touch, the pair included thistles in their floral design and set their tables with Tunnocks Teacakes place settings.
When asked about the best part of the day, Allyson told us:
Having all our friends and family under one roof was amazing. It was such a unique situation and one that we’ll never forget. We felt so loved.
We also asked Allyson if there was anything she had learnt that she thought was an important tip for future wedding couples?
Let people help. One of the best bits of the whole experience was the making and organising of everything with friends and family. Everyone played a part in making the barn look as personal as it did on our wedding day.
